Elk City man charged with Trafficking Meth
A 27-year-old Elk City man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on $100,000 bond after Elk City Police say they found the man with a large amount of methamphetamine in his underwear.
At approximately 6:25 am on February 1, dispatch radioed that a vehicle was being stolen from the area of Peace and C Avenue.
Several officers responded to the call.
Dispatch then advised pickup had crossed Randall Avenue and later that it had “wrecked out” near Oliver and B Avenue. The suspect left the truck and fled the area on foot.
The officers began working the area of the wreck looking for possible suspect.
While traveling west on Country Club, the reporting officer saw a man, later identified as Kameron Harrison, walking northbound.
The officer turned around and noticed that Harrison was then walking southbound.
The officer explained that a truck had recently been stolen and that he had to identify him since he was in the area.
Harrison agreed and was released for the officer to continue to search the area.
The officer then radioed dispatch to ask if Harrison had any outstanding warrants. Moments later, dispatch advised the Harrison had possible warrants out of Custer and Beckham Counties.
