Bargain hunters may be glad to learn that the Shabby to Chick Thrift Store, operated by Sagebrush, Inc., is open again, this time at a new location.  

A 41-year-old Elk City man was arrested for drug charges in Sayre after the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office received calls of a suspicious vehicle in the early hours of August 6.

The Western Oklahoma Historical Society (WOHS) chairman, Cory Speiker, recently announced that they are looking for nominations to be inducted into their Hall of Fame.


Erick opened the fall baseball campaign with a visit from Cheyenne/Reydon Aug. 6. The Bears took the opener 4-1 while the Bearcats came back for 6-2 victory in the nightcap.

Erick opened the season Aug. 6 with a visit from Clinton. The Lady Red Tornado swept in three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-9, 25-19.

The Aug. 6 season opener brought Navajo to Sayre and the visitors posted a 7-1 decision. The Lady Eagles traveled to Cordell Aug.

Brock Anthoney Downs was born September 2, 1994 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Sonya Kay (Loyd) and Jimmy Dale Downs.  He passed away August 14, 2018 at Clinton, Oklahoma at the age of 23 years, 11 month

Kristie Diane Dickey Mikkelson was born March 6, 1975 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Linda Jean (Crites) Pruitt.
